My 2026 RAV4 Limited has the above in the form of an LED light pipe which illuminates the open shelf just above the glove box. At night, when the vehicle is on park; this light is ON per owners manual and dims further when the vehicle is being driven (assume not to be a distraction). In park, this light is barely visible but in drive; the light is dimmed to being nearly OFF. Not sure if it is a defect but it is next to useless. Will ask my dealership to verify at the next oil change.
