New to plugin hybrid... GR

Hey guys. I traded out of a Crown 24 reg hybrid. Like I said this is mt first plug in. I have several questions to owning one. The traction battery can be charged up overnight. Its 100percent when i leave for work about a 42-mile trip. Its on about mid to high 70s when I get to work. On the way home same way it barley even drops in percent. Is this normal? It also has different switches EV-HV auto HV EV which one do i need to be driving in. sorry for all the questions just would like to see what you guys have to say. Thanks

Sounds like you are running is a EV HV mode. That is probably good for what you are doing. The vehicle should start up in EV mode and then you can change to the other modes. If I am going much further than 30 miles I usually switch to EV-HV and it holds onto battery. Reason I do that is that my charger at home is level 1 and I like it to charge to 100% overnight. Have fun learning your new vehicle!

I don't understand why anyone that has a PHEV can't answer you questions. "EV" is If you want to drive in EV only. It will only use the battery until it is depleted and then auto switch to Hybrid mode. Engine will start up if you exceed 80 or 85 MPH. Be aware that in EV only, that quick acceleration that everyone loves will not be there. HV-Auto will run all electric if you stay lite on the acceleration but if pushed will switch from electric only to combo gas electric producing the full 324 HP. In HV the electric and gas work together like a normal Hybrid. In HV mode the majority (about 80%) of the battery will be saved for later use. I've noticed that my car at 100% charged only gives me a 45 mile range. not the 52 miles advertised. I only have about 500 miles on my car and I'm hoping it will go up in time. Could you let me know how your range is developing.
