Got my Limited in May and love it. I’m a distracted driver as I get used to the iPad, HUD, and traffic alerts. It’ll get better I’m sure. I came from 13 years in a Prius and 10 years in a Prius V.

One issue is that the HUD goes dim some days. Adjusting the brightness doesn’t change that. Next time out, all is good. Maybe a software glitch, since the 2026 is built on a new system development platform.

Maybe along the same line, the selection of widgets on the Home Screen doesn’t stick. Once a week it reverts to another order of widgets.

If these are the only bugs in the newly integrated software, I’m happy.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to participating in this forum.

Welcome to the site @lakemates -- ride looks gorgeous, glad to have you aboard!

Found this in the manual on page 110... "When the temperature around the head-up display is high, the display will gradually become dark to protect the head-up display. It will gradually return to normal when the temperature drops." Dark=Dim I suppose.

Interesting. I guess the brighter it is, the more electricity it uses so it runs hotter. Makes sense to me.

Good catch. Thanks. I’ll notice the temperature from now on.

Another software glitch is 2-4 times a week I get a notification that there’s open or unlocked doors on my RAV4, but the app and physical inspection show all’s well and everything is locked. Odd.

At least that doesn't sound like a really bad bug. Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

I agree. The bugs I’ve encountered thus far have been minor. Wonder how I can report them?

That's a tough one. You could report it to the dealership but it will probably end right there. Finding someone higher up at Toyota that actually cares is probably a bit trickier.

Nice, that's perfect. Great find!

Not trying to be a smart A**, but polarized sunglasses will dim your HUD to the point its barely visible. So on a hot day with the Sun out it sounds like a HUD is a problem. I am trying to decide between the HUD or polarized sunglasses.
