Enable radio

Is it necessary to enable radio every time I turn off pwr and restart vehicle? Or do I need to change some setting? I am new owner of limited.

Hopefully someone else can chime in! I've never seen that on a vehicle but don't currently own one of the new RAV4's.

I just got my first brand new 2026 RAV4 Limited and I believe it is a software bug. My XM radio (audio) does not come back on automatically (usually but has, on occasion) when I power on the vehicle. But the FM and AM does - instead of turning the radio on/off/on to get the audio. Select the FM or AM and then the Sirius XM.

I believe a significant miss for Toyota is not having a radio Mute button, most other manufacturers incorporate it in the rocker switch for the up/down volume and push for Mute. The RAV4 has up/down only, guess you can pause the radio on the center screen. Not so convenient.

Yes, you can use ‘Hey Toyota’ but this is a part of a subscription service (drive connect) which is free for 1 year trial on the higher trims only. I don’t like to pay for subscriptions.

I had my profile set to carplay instead of android auto. Works fine now.

I think I have figured it out. Radio comes on when starting car if the vehicle has not been locked. When I start up vehicle in my garage it comes on. If I go somewhere and lock the vehicle, I have to turn radio after starting. I have searched and find nothing to verify.
